Toshiba chooses ModusLink as its partner for European retail product fulfillment
WALTHAM, Mass. — December 19, 2007 — ModusLink® Corporation, a subsidiary of CMGI®, Inc. (NASDAQ: CMGI) and leading provider of global supply chain management solutions, today announced it has signed a multi-year contract with Toshiba Electronics Europe (Toshiba) to manage the company’s European supply chain for a variety of its storage products.
As part of the contract, ModusLink will deliver a wide range of supply chain solutions, including its popular Optimized Configuration Solution, in this case leveraging its Brno Solution Center in the Czech Republic to efficiently and cost effectively finalize configuration of five different base components into hundreds of different finished goods to meet specific customer demand with less inventory cost and risk.
Toshiba also has tapped ModusLink’s retail fulfillment expertise to reduce the cost, complexity and lead time of direct shipment to distributors throughout Europe.

The full scope of services to be rendered include sourcing and supply base management, optimized configuration, packaging design and light manufacturing, with services delivered in a phased approach.
